With a renewed team we have entered the competition as planned. Last year's "story" or "ambitions" were just a cover story for the mess of sensors we threw together, but this year — after realizing the plan is as important as the solution — we are focusing on it a lot more. Our mission will probably stay the same: "measure how habitable an area is", since we think it can be researched, planned, and measured fairly objectively. This might change before the PDR if we come up with something more interesting.
The new team
As we said in our last blog, some people left and new ones joined. The teammates who mostly worked on the CanSat last year stayed the same: Levente Fábián for the electronics, Dávid Vörös for the programming, and Ádám Tihanyi for the structure. The newcomers are Gergő Vacsi, who is interested in programming and keeps in touch with our sponsors, and Bálint Ács-Sánta with Attila Fejéregyházi, who work on outreach, managing our socials and updating the website. We are hopeful the new members will take their responsibilities well and enjoy working with TeamZero!
Last year's project
We are close to finishing! Progress almost came to a halt over the summer, but we only have some final touch-ups left in the plans, then we need to order the parts, assemble them, and maybe debug things even though the code already works on the prototype. We aim to finish before this year's registration period ends, and maybe even have it launched before the PDR is due. We can't thank the Skywalkers team enough for their help — not just with the launch, but with all the advice along the way!
